EVALUATE BEFORE PLANTING

Before planting shrubbery and /or trees on your property determine the best area to plant to avoid locating trees and large shrubs near power lines. Planting too close can contribute to power outage problems. Also keep in mind how large the trees or shrubbery will become over the years and allow plenty of area for growth, for trees allow an area away from power lines of approximately 20 feet. It is also important to keep plantings away from pads that contain equipment including transformers, plants too close can hinder access to equipment causing a delay in repairs.
