LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FOR GARRELL DESIGNED HOMES

January 17, 2012 Michael Garrell Garrell Associates We purchased our Amicalola Cottage house plans from Garrell Associates in 2008. After engineering modifications to account for the heavy snow load here near Park City, Utah, we began building on a beautiful 3 acre lot in Midway, Utah. We chose the Amicalola plan to take full advantage of the 360 degree mountain and river views available to our building lot. In April of 2011 we moved into our home. Our builder did a superb job. However, the building process took a little longer than expected due to challenges presented by our river bottom lot and complications installing a ground source geothermal heating and cooling system. We cannot tell you how much we love this home. We have owned and built several homes and an exclusive lodge. This home takes the best of all of them and puts it into one plan. The home is extremely light and shows off incredible views in every room. The tall windows provide for a bright and comfortable experience. We have a large extended family that gathers often. The large common rooms provide comfort and space for all. The home has a very cozy feel while at the same time providing plenty of space for living and storage. There is plenty of room for several cooks in the kitchen at once. The beautiful and large deck is the feature that attracted us. We nearly live on the deck in the warmer months. The deck fireplace and barbeque provide hours of pleasure. The architecture provides many different lines in the walls and ceilings. Each room has its own feel. The ceiling angles and nooks capture the interests of our imaginations. The plan of this house flows beautifully. Each space flows into the next in a simple and elegant way. The rooms are all warm and cozy in the winter and evenly cooled in the summer. We happen to be located 4 lots away from the 2012 HGTV giveaway dream home. We are currently the only 2 homes in our development. Each day people who are driving by to see the promoted HGTV home stop to tell us that they wish our beautiful home was the home being offered in the promotion. There has not been a day since we have lived in our home that we have not said to ourselves, family, and friends how much we love this home.
