PREPARING YOUR DECK FURNITURE FOR THE SUMMER SEASON

The summer months are upon us which means many of us will be spending more time outside. Now is the time to prepare your outdoor living areas for summer enjoyment. After a previous summer of exposure to the elements patio furniture will need to be cleaned for the upcoming season. Soiled patio furniture consisting of metal, plastic or wicker can usually be restored with a mild soap or cleaner scrubbed with a towel and/or a soft brush. After the surfaces are dry, painted metal surfaces that appear oxidized should be polished with an automotive cleaner/wax. If the surface is not oxidized a coat of automotive wax should be applied to protect the finish. Keeping your furniture clean season to season will add years to its life.
